hey all! aren’t you glad it’s not a haul post for once? ;D

so my homecoming week is the week before halloween, aka october 24-29 (29th is the actual dance).

i’m super excited for it and i’m going to go as all out as i can, and plus halloween is the following monday! whoopiee.

but i’m having a really hard time picking out an outfit. i have two ideas in mind and i can’t settle on one or the other.

so it would be awesome if my readers could help me!! :D

outfit number 1:

free people // casual dinner night outfit

i call this the dinner night outfit because i wore a similar outfit (the dress and purse, which i already own) to a fancy japanese restaurant a few weeks ago with my aunt and mom, and it was really comfortable and cute. however, i feel like it’s too fancy for school but too casual for the most important dance of the year, you know?

i would wear it almost the same as the girl on the right, obviously not the same accessories because it’s expensive but maybe with a thin pearl necklace and a bangle of some sort, with black tights and possibly the same shoes? or at least black suede wedges of some sort :)

free people homecoming outfit

outfit rundown (all from free people; the model on the left is wearing all of these except the shoes)

dress - floral lace flit and flare dress

necklace - ethiopian double cross necklace

bracelet - engraved river cuff

tail - faux coon bag charm

shoes - jeffrey campbell sgt pepper ankle boots

bag - madame c clutch (they don’t have the same one in the pic online for some reason, hmm!)

outfit number 2:

tibi // girls night out outfit

so this outfit i really like, it’s very simple yet spunky. the only downside is i don’t have this dress at the moment.

i tried on the same brand and similar styled dress [which was pretty but...a little too orange!] when i went to loehmann’s in union square the other day, and i know what size i am and that the dress will fit, but it’s just a matter of if it’s worth buying or not, since i don’t think i would wear it anywhere else besides homecoming. i don’t go to a lot of classy parties (or PARTIES in general) but i dunno.

i would definitely pair this with leopard wedges or pumps, OR nude pumps [not pictured]. nude would help me look taller, but my friends think that nude would be too boring since the jewelry is minimal (3 thin silver bangles.)

nonetheless, i really like this outfit and i think it would work on me.

tibi homecoming outfit

outfit rundown:

dress - tibi [i found it being sold for cheaper elsewhere--dont' worry, i wouldn't buy a $500 dress just for homecoming LOL]

wedges - steve madden

bangles - anna beck [i would probably just wear the silver bangles my brother brought for me from when he went to india :D]

now, i know i edited the free people outfit way better than the tibi one but i dunno. i know it sounds like i’m leaning towards the tibi outfit but i’m really stuck between the two.

SO! please vote for which one you like better, and/or leave a comment below! <3

hey everyone!

first of all. ADDICTED TO THIS SONG…

so yes, anyway it’s another haul. i haven’t had much to blog about lately i guess. or the things that i CAN blog about i choose to not upload to flickr because i’m lazy…T_T anyway yeah.

SO first off, a pair of maroon/burgundy corduroys from rag & bone! they are awesome. i bought them in a huge size but they fit well. really large at the waist but nothing a belt can’t fix.

i bought them at loehmann’s in union square, SF, which is like a marshalls/tj max/nordstrom rack/other store that sells nice brands for less, but loehmann’s has AWESOME designer brands. they had a chanel purse for $6000 selling for $3000! CRAZY!!

these pants used to be $180 and i bought em for $79 :D

DUDE guys. awkwardly look through my legs in this picture for a surprise. LOLOLOL

also at jeremy’s, i bought some adorable and SOFT betsey johnson ivory floral socks.

i already have black calf-high floral betsey johnson socks so i thought these would be super cute. the lace on the top is REALLY soft!

it used to be $12 and i bought it for $7 yay :)

next up is a ‘paint stroke’ or ‘aztec’ ish v-neck i bought off ebay originally from urban outfitters.

and would ya look who has it, too….HEHE!! miranda cosgrove wearing the same shirt.

i also went to jeremy’s, which is a department store in san francisco and berkeley. my friend recommended it to me saying that they sell really nice designer brands for less, like loehmann’s, so my mom and i checked it out. the clothes were OK….they were all either broken, stained, or odd sized. there was an alice + olivia feather vest originally like $300 for $30 because there were PERIOD STAINS on the back….i should have taken a picture…it was literally like BLOOD on the back of the vest, and there were 5 that were like that….definitely NOT a factory defect. i also saw a pair of j brands originally $220 for $11. i tried them on not knowing they were defected, and boom….two rips on each hip. i mean, why even bother selling it?! >_> weird…. however i did find two things that i liked: gold clubmaster ray bans and floral socks :) unfortunately the ray ban’s weren’t as big a deal as i thought….i bought it thinking it was $45 and not $145, and i decided i would still buy them anyway, but it seems it’s selling for the same price online even though jeremy’s said it was $210 retailed. so that’s something that annoyed me. but they sure are sexy.

here are the floral socks i bought at jeremy’s with the betsey johnson ones i bought from loehmann’s.

the jeremy’s socks [left] are SO cute but really delicate. as you can see, the only thing i liked was barely marked down (used to be $9, now $5. i can’t tell if it says $9 or $90 but i’m sure it’s $9.)

miscellenous shit i bought off ebay:

free people red ‘folk explosion’ thermal!’

DSC_0114DSC_0115DSC_0116

free people pink burnout double v neck sweater thermal thing….

DSC_0117

i prefer to wear it with my truly madly deeply v neck :)

i also love being extremely good looking………………

DSC_0118DSC_0119

and the last thing i bought [for this post, at least!] off ebay that i got today is a color block sweater/blouse/stretchy top thing from forever 21. i just love it! :)
DSC_0120DSC_0121

that’s all for now! i have a whole ‘note’ that i made on the side of my computer screen with ‘things i’ve bought that i meant to blog about…but was too lazy or forgot to…’
i’m doing really well in school right now so i think it’s best if i try to stay off blogging, but i’ll update at least once or twice a week if i can! :)

love you all

hello fellow followers of my blog! :D

so if you follow my blog, you would know that i have been OBSESSED with buying this adorable shirt from a high quality celebrity-loved brand called lauren moshi. they are LA-based, and known for having super high quality and indie-styled shirts, pants, sweats, etc. i found out about this brand because, yes…i admit it! a celebrity i really like, miranda cosgrove, was wearing it. i didn’t just buy it because she owned it, i bought it because it’s just so beast!! :)

anyway. so these are the stock pictures that laurenmoshi.com provides:

Lauren Moshi Diamond Lips Raglan

so anyway, i thought the design was really cute and i loved the baseball tee style sleeves!

for the record, i have been hunting down this shirt since practically last fall. i never thought to purchase it, even though i really wanted it, until:

A. they ran out for 2 weeks and luckily restocked

B. the employees told me they would be restocking again after it had sold out 2 months later and ended up not restocking

C. i realized they had one more left in my size (XS) in the store

so basically the shirt is really popular and was going fast and i only thought to buy it once i realized that there would not be another chance for me to buy it. so after waiting almost/over a year deciding if i wanted to buy the top or not, i decided they had ONE MORE in my size and i had one chance to buy it. so i did.

in the end i paid around $129, the shirt being $119, free shipping, but on the bill i had to pay $10 for transit fees….strange! but i’ll deal with that. i also got my shirt in a size XS, for future reference as you read the post.

i called the store in LA on the 21st/wednesday, and asked them if they had it, and gave them my information and they had it shipped on thursday, and it arrived today, monday!! so it was mega efficiently fast, which i love. the shipping was also free. woo hoo!

so it arrived and i was flipping out the entire weekend and all day at school for it to arrive. UPS is a bitch and takes forever to get to my house, so of course it has to arrive at 6:45 PM. usually it arrives at 7:30 PM so i guess it wasn’t too bad.

thank you adriana, who helped me over email when i asked if they would be getting the item back in stock, and also helping me order on the phone and when i called back on friday to see when my order would be in she gladly gave me my tracking number and let me know it would arrive on time on monday. she was very kind and repeatedly let me know that if there were any problems once received that i should call her back. but it ended up being okay! :D

i feel like the packaging was done fairly well–the shirt was folded pretty well but there were still a few creases that i’ll have to iron out….i’m too lazy to though, lol! it was wrapped in a white tissue paper and plastic, with a catalog of their newest stock, and a letter with the bill (ew!)

the shirt is REALLY soft. it’s very thin, but not see through. i was really impressed by the high quality fabrics that they use, and the overall structure of the shirt. the photos don’t do it justice, the shirt is SUPER soft, i could wear it to sleep!!

DSC_0084

F I T T I N G ★★★★ 4/5

not gonna lie, i was a little bit surprised at the fitting. i thought the shirt would fit loosely in the sleeves and at the bottom, thinking it would flare. the reason i was wrong is because:

A. i have a REALLY short torso

B. perhaps it was too small

i ended up getting an XS, which i’m really glad i did, but the reason it doesn’t fit me like it does on the model(s) is because i think they are taller/have longer torsos than me. the thing that sucks about little ol iomoo is that i have a short torso and pretty short legs. idk. i think it’s really unflattering. hell, it is unflattering. (my short legs and torso, i mean. NOT the shirt! i love the shirt! :D)

but i don’t blame the company for the shirt not fitting me like it does on the model. i still like  how it fits anyway, so it all works out, yeah?

WOW. this shirt is VERY detailed and that’s why i love it. the little reflective ‘gems’ on the tongue aren’t really gems, they’re little reflective pieces of….fabric? i’m not sure. it’s totally beast though.

O V E R A L L 100/5!!!

overall i had a very pleasant experience and i will buy from lauren moshi again. they have beautiful quality items for somewhat expensive tastes, but in my opinion it was totally worth it. i’m not sure where their store is, but i’m pretty sure they sell lauren moshi widely throughout los angelos. :)

i love lauren moshi! :)

please, follow them on twitter and like them on facebook! they are totally awesome people. check out their spankin’ blog, too!

for the record, i was not asked or paid to write this review. it is genuine! :)

hey everyone! jesus sorry for the…2 week hiatus? it wont happen again! D:

i thought i would just share stuff i’ve purchased recently, since i have an ongoing list of stuff i have yet to share with you all.

so around three weekends ago i went to haight street in san francisco and stopped by amoeba music. i usually don’t go there because strange people hang around outside the shop, but there’s a whole foods across the street that my mom and i had stopped by so we decided to go to amoeba. my mom had a really splendid time looking at all the old records and musicians she recognized. i was happy to have found two of my favorite indie bands ever–the xx and a local band that is now very popular, called girls. i recommend ‘basic space’ by the xx and ‘lust for life’ by girls. all the songs are great though!

each CD was pretty expensive actually–the xx one was $11 and the girls one was $16. the fun thing about amoeba is that for almost all of the CDs, you can buy them ‘used’ for a LOT cheaper ($3-5) which is good for people on a budget. and they have nearly every band! (well, almost. i asked an employee if they had any CDs by the band ‘discovery’ whom i also like, but unfortunately they didn’t…however he recommended a few new bands to me instead which i ended up liking! :D)

the ‘the xx’ CD case was really cool–it was like a cut out!

i think i forgot to mention to you all, but i have a story about my pillow. my friend was over at my house a few weeks ago during the beginning of the school year and she was running in my backyard and got her feet all dirty. then she went into my room and started sitting on my bed and putting her feet on my pink squish pillow that i have had since i was in 3rd grade. i didn’t get mad at her but i kind of was upset that she was dirtying all my stuff. after she went home, i washed the pillow..

and BOOM.

it exploded….because i’m an idiot and i machine washed it. not to be a little emo child but ever since it exploded i have had da really hard time going to sleep because it used to be the thing that would kind of comfort me when i went to sleep and it was hard to go to sleep without it. i told my mom i was really upset about it and she went out and bought me this:

DSC_0172

LOL :D korilakkuma pillow. it’s not very fluffy but it’s really adorable. she told me she was eating at a japanese market and thought i would like it, which i do. it doesn’t make up for my old pillow since they’re not at all the same thing, but i’m happy my mom bought it for me :D

DSC_0173

and finally, I’M SUPER HPAPY!!!!! i forgot that i won justjaredjr’s icarly DVD contest!

i left like 60 comments on the post hoping to win the ‘i <3 icarly’ DVD contest and i did! it took them forever to send over the prize though; i won the first week of august and i got it 2 weeks ago…so about a month! meep.

HEY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!

so i just came back from one of my best friend’s sweet 16 birthdays at a beach. it was so legit, i had a ton of fun!

and i came home….checked my emails…

and found that i gained 40 followers in a few hours.

why?

MIRANDA COSGROVE FREAKING TWEETED MY FAN ACCOUNT!!!!!!! [MirandaC_Style]

I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW IT HAPPENED!!! if you don’t read my blog[s], i’m a huge fan of miranda cosgrove and i think she’s really talented and dresses amazingly well.

it seems like she was on twitter and was thanking all the major fan accounts for her and came across mine!

i figure that because i never tweeted her or even used my twitter for the past week so it was a surprise to me!

she randomly tweeted me and wrote ‘Love your page! Thanks!’

read from bottom to top.

MIRANDA COSGROVE TWEETED ME!

i honestly don’t know how to feel. i’m kind of flipping out but playing it cool, i don’t want to cry but i want to express how happy that makes me. it means she ACTUALLY saw my page for her!
regardless of if my blog happens to be a place to find exacts for her clothing…[lol] i’m SO happy she likes it! that is SO beast!

anyway that is my big announcement. i’m so happy and just overall freaking out. i’ll post pictures from the beach party i went to later on. /FREAKING OUT/

[see the same post but on my other blog :D]

that means that on September 2, 2011, Miranda Cosgrove visited Miranda Style Source.
