i get weak [soulstruck relive through this contest]

hey everyone!

first things first–HAPPY 200TH POST TO ME!! :) i’ve had my blog since july 2010 and i sure have come a very, very long way!

anyway, the main content now: here is my entry for the soulstruck relive through this contest!

the contest is  to come up with a polyvore-esque set that includes a vintage song and a pair of their vintage shoes.

it is inspired by the 80′s hit ‘i get weak’ by belinda carlisle.

i wanted it to be a flirtly look with a hint of darkness.
for the vintage shoes, i chose number 183; woven toe nude pump, because i really liked the matte color with the accented toes. to add more color to the look, since they are nude shoes, i threw in some slouchy gray socks.

free people haul + i won the glam gift basket giveaway?!?!

HEY GUYS!

so i’ve been doing tons of holiday shopping at free people recently!

i went in with my mom last week and bought a ring and a sweet cashmere sweater during their holiday glam event, where they had cookies, makeup artists, and tons of items on sale! i got the red deco stone ring for $20 (from $30) and a the riding hood cashmere cardigan in gray for $90 from $170!

pros and cons of each:

the cardigan’s button fell off, so i contacted free people and asked for an extra button since i didn’t get one when i bought it. but for god’s sake, i’m not rough with things that i buy–why would the button fall off? so dumb.

the ring is so gorgeous, but leaves a weird greenish gray residue if you wear it for too long. otherwise, cute!

so anyway. the free people i was at had a party thing, and it said if you bought a holiday dress you could be entered to be in a contest to win a huge gift basket. when we were paying, my mom and i thought it was so cute!

AND THEN! i went to free people after school yesterday with my friend, since it was a minimum 1:05 release day (school usually ends at 3:32, weird times, i know) and so i walk into the store looking for a sweater i saw online, and a girl approaches me. she asks if i had gone to the store last week during the holiday glam party. i was confused at first, but i nodded yes. then she tells me that i won their contest and they had drawn my name but i had already left, and they were about to choose a new winner but decided to wait for me to retrieve it.

SO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only thing is, i feel guilty because i didn’t actually buy a dress…i don’t think…o__O

oh well! free stuff! and i ended up buying the sweater that i wanted. tons of pics now! :D :D

i’m going to give the basket to my mom for christmas; she doesn’t know we actually won it so it’ll be surprising for her! <3

OKAY! now for the things i bought.

yesterday, after getting the goodie bag, i bought the marled yarn pullover in mocha–they told me a ton had just come in which was lucky because it’s sold out in every size online! eeeek!

it’s a really beuatiful brown-purple color. i was deciding between this or the roxy high low pullover in burgundy–it’s a similar sweater that is very soft, but the cut is a little higher.

i got an xtra small but i suppose i could have gone for a small if i wanted a drapey-er look. but i prefer fitted!

sorry for my mirror being so dirty! i’ll clean it, i swear.

this skirt is from loehmann’s, and it’s from BLANK NYC. it used to be $80 but i got it for $25! whee!

last but not least, the ring i bought! (i’ll post the cardigan later)

i won the solestruck/jeffrey campbell contest!

so if you read my blog, you may have seen my blog post from a few weeks ago entering a contest in which you ‘spill’ the contents of your favorite purse. i was one of 20 winners! i’m really  happy, i won a purse from jeffrey campbell‘s new ‘girls we hated in high school‘ line!

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

FOLLOWERS, FANS, AND FRIENDS ALL ALIKE!

TODAY, JULY 15 2011,

IS MY ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY!!

this is SO EXCITING FOR ME! i never thought i would actually be getting views and followers on my blog, i just kind of figured i wanted to keep track of things i was buying and my photographs, and i guess some of you like it!

i don’t know what exactly to say, besides the fact that i’m just so excited about it.

in other news, i saw Ϟ harry potter 7 pt 2 Ϟ last night at midnight for my friend’s birthday!

(let’s pretend Ϟ is a lightning bolt. >_> there’s also ϟ but it’s not as pweettyyyy.)

this was all 4 of us; the two girls on the left i’ve known since 4th grade, and the one behind me since 6th grade. i love them SO darn much, and it was fun reuniting since we all went to different high schools :(

my friend with the blue sweatshirt drew harry potter lightning bolts Ϟ on our foreheads–it was sooo awk walking around the theater to scout for cute guys HAHAHAHA! but whatever :) and the scarf i’m wearing was not intentionally worn for harry potter–just a coincidence. yay!

i pretty much grew up with harry potter…i wasn’t big on reading the books, i believe i only read the first one, but the first book was published in 1998 (1997 in UK) which is two years after i was born, and literally 17 days after my little brother was born. every year, my older brother would read the books and purposely spoil it for us, since we were far too young and lazy to read them. and i used to hate it but i grew to like it, and it was just something i remember.

i loved going to the theaters to see all 8 (including part 1 & 2 of 7) of the movies, seeing the cast be all dramatic, then the huge WG and the clouds and then the HARRY POTTER logo appearing over hogwarts….i just have so many memories, and for me it’s different because this was literally throughout my childhood, from when i was age 7 (when the first movie came out) till now, and i’m 15 1/2. i just can’t imagine this, it’s crazy…the weirdest part is, i don’t even like harry potter that much!

i digress, the movie was amazing, and i MUST say it was

FREAKING AMAZING. Ϟ

anyway, i have SO many photos & things i’ve bought to post, as well as updates on everything…i’m just such a lazy fool! >_<

i’m planning a giveaway possibly, not just for followers but to thank the few followers that do subscribe to me.

i l♥ve you sweet readers, and without you i would feel so discouraged from blogging, so you’ve really made a difference for me!

the reason i haven’t been updating is because i’ve been working really hard on a new blog, called MirandaStyleSource!

it’s not one that majority of you would want to follow, as it’s aimed towards a different audience(?) if you’re familiar with the hit show icarly, it’s a blog that follows the main character carly (miranda cosgrove) and what she wears in and out of the show.

i really admire her fashion and many people wonder about where she gets her clothes so i figured if i made a blog for it, i would get lots of viewers, and i have! but i’ve noticed the ratings on this blog have started to go down a bit so i wanted to give you an update.
