AAAAH SO EMBARASSING!!!

first things first: the photos may not be as big as usual if you click full size cuz i ran out of bandwidth on flickr. lol!

so in my last post i mentioned i would be in the school newspaper for my blog, which is awesome.

i forgot to mention that i was interviewed last friday for this style/fashion segment on the daily morning announcements.

so it airs today and it’s the most embarassing thing ever.

everyone answered really vaguely and quick response, but of course i HAD to blabber on and on.

to make things worse, they edited out the girl askin the questions so it just seemed like i was obsessed with talking about my clothes and opinion when really i was being asked :( it was so awkward.

i was like ‘oh i think the must have for this season is comfy coat or parka‘ (yeah, i HAD to say parka T_T no one knows what that is, apparently…) and then i was like ‘i got my shoes from nordstrom during their summer sale a few years ago, and my jacket is juicy but i got it from a thrift store in san francisco, i like it because it’s velvet and adds a pop of color’. god i regret saying all of that now, lol!

most of my friends at school thought it was cute or funny, but i got harassed (as a joke) all day today, when it aired.

every passing period at least one person would go ‘OMG I SAW YOU ON THE MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS LOL YOU’RE SO CUTE I WAS LAUGHING SOO HARD’, or my friends in band were like ‘sara took up 90% of the broadcasting time’ or ‘haha i get my shoes from nordstroms, noice one guysz’

i mean i’m not offended, i think it’s hilarious and i find it cool that everyone’s talking about it. sort of. well my classmates talk about it. yay! :)

ANYWAY! i got my milky planet pink tiered skirt in the mail today from lethalcute! SO HAPPY!

i remember i wanted to buy it in like 8th grade from juniorsweet, but i didn’t know how to use my paypal so i couldn’t afford it. i stalked a post on egl_comm_sales and noticed that lethalcute purchased it and i was like ‘oh if in the future you decide you don’t want it, just let me know!’ so she actually let me know like 2 weeks ago that she was looking to sell it and we settled on an affordable price for me, and it arrived in a mere two days!

amy [lethalcute] was REALLY sweet the entire transaction and was very patient when i was having paypal problems. i love her! thanks amy! <3

sophia alexandra drew iomoo!

a lovely lolita named sophia drew me!!

sophia is an awesome lolita from san francisco [go SF!!] who is one of the best casual lolitas ever. her blog is really inspiring, and she also makes her own dresses–some of the best handmade clothing i’ve ever seen!! i like the way she styles her lolita because it’s more of an indie/classic style, but with sweet prints. it’s really hard to describe, because it’s so awesome–go check it out for yourself!

angelic pretty dreamy dollhouse poster!

dreamy dollhouse is my favorite lolita dress print, and my friend thevisual_beast was selling a bunch of angelic pretty posters, which some may still be for sale! :D so i practically jumped when i saw it was not JUST in postcard form but in POSTER FORM! :)

thevisual_beast [pepper] was super nice the entire transaction, as she always has been (i’ve had transactions with her in the past and they were more than perfect!). the shipping took quite some time but it was worth it in the end, and she threw in a few freebies for me! yay thanks pepper!! :)

two free buttons; eeeeeee so cute!!

it kept rolling so i had to secure it down. i was stupid and put the scissors towards the poster at first, so there is a tiny scratch right above the green ribbon now :( oh well!

i couldn’t decide where i wanted to put it because i literally have no room anymore (which reminds me, i have to take down a few photos in my room of my old friends from two years ago in 8th grade–i still love ‘em, but it makes me sad to always be reminded of our old memories and i need space for photos of all my new friends! :) )

so i decided to take down my where the wild things are calendar [sadface] and put it there instead.

don’t worry, i moved the calendar somewhere else so i can still see it! now it’s right above my mirror next to my door~

and then i put the poster up! i just took some scotch tape and taped the ends to each other so it would be double sided, and then mounted it to the back of the poster, sorta–so that if i ever have to remove the poster in the future, i won’t have to rip or damage the art!!

I WANNA SPILL IT! (jeffrey campbell + solestruck?)

HEY GUYS!

so i just entered a jeffrey campbell SOLESTRUCK contest in which you must spill the contents of your favorite purse–emphasis on the favorite! [edit: awkward! i thought it was jeffrey campbell! the contest goods are from jeffrey campbell, but it's hosted by solestruck. ack!]

the reason i haven’t been updating is because i’ve been working really hard on a new blog, called MirandaStyleSource!

it’s not one that majority of you would want to follow, as it’s aimed towards a different audience(?) if you’re familiar with the hit show icarly, it’s a blog that follows the main character carly (miranda cosgrove) and what she wears in and out of the show.

i really admire her fashion and many people wonder about where she gets her clothes so i figured if i made a blog for it, i would get lots of viewers, and i have! but i’ve noticed the ratings on this blog have started to go down a bit so i wanted to give you an update.

you can check it out for fun, however it’s not finished, and subscribe to it on bloglovin’ just for the hell of it, if you want! :D

fanime 2011; and what could have been.

hey everyone! this is just a post about how i WANTED  to go to fanime but ended up not. it’s sort of a rant post to get me away from studying for finals, which i wasn’t really doing anyway…but thats besides the point.

basically i was waiting all year since AX 2010 to go to fanime. i missed out so much last year with all the lolita events and stuff! so in january when i got my dream item, the dreamy dollhouse salopette, i knew i would wear it for fanime.

this did not happen.

why?

i have a friend i’ve known since 4th grade that i’ve gone to fanime 2008, 2009, and AX 2010 with. shes a real sweetheart and is extremely kind. but she is smart too. she knows when to ignore someone when she doesn’t want to speak with them. in this sense i mean if i IM her on aim with something she doesn’t care about, she merely does not respond. which happened to be the case.

i thought i could find a friend that would tag alone with me to go to fanime. being only 15, i was terrified of going myself. a bright pink, OTT, 15 year old sweet lolita walking among noob cosplayers and creepy men who don’t belong there didn’t sound like a joyride to me. [lack of better words...joyride...fail] anyway, so the friends i went to  the AP opening with couldn’t go because one had to study for finals and the other lived too far away  to drive down :/ so i resorted to asking my friend that i mentioned before. she said it would be fine if i went with her but mentioned that she would be with her friends/fans from deviantART, since she is a popular artist there. that makes sense and i honestly had no problem with it!

so i asked her what time and when. no. response.

a day later. what time and when. no. response.

i figured okay, i can just text her when i get there! no reply. maybe i should call her…bam. i realized that she got a new phone since we had gone to AX 2010, and never updated it since i don’t see her anymore. i sat awkwardly in the car for TWENTY MINUTES. just sitting. a bright pink lolita next to an angry asian mom who was complaining about how bad i was at planning stuff.

i was deciding whether i should pay $25 to just go because i know the shopping is fun, but i noticed there were literally no lolitas and tons of weird weeaboo teens. i mean it’s fanime, so what did i expect…but i decided against it.

on our way back, my mom needed to stop by macy’s to buy a coffee maker, so away we went.

most funny moment of my life!!!

i somewhat strutted through the perfume/makeup department, and tons of (what looked like) single 25 year old girls with snooki makeup, in which their eyeshadow extended to their eyebrows and beyond, stared in awe at me. i just lifted my chin up and continued to  the escalator. my mom and i scurried around the kitchen and appliances section until we found what we wanted. it was so funny seeing a lolita carrying a mini toaster, and that is all i have to say XD

that was my first time wearing lolita in a non-lolita environment though, and it was really interesting. on my way to the car, one of the makeup gurus who saw me earlier said ‘hi there, i love your outfit!’ as i passed by. i cutely said thanks, in a way that my voice sort of cracked LOL. and then on my way out, i didn’t dare turn around but it seemed like a mother and her 20 or so year old daughter were wondering if i was a doll, or a fairy, or a giant barbie. wrong. D. all of the above. HAHA!

so that’s my story of why i didn’t go to fanime. i’m really sad that i couldn’t do all the fun things and shop, but i PROMISE i will go next year. if i can’t, i think i will explode!! i’m aiming for saturday next year. saturday, and better planning! @__@
