i get weak [soulstruck relive through this contest]

hey everyone!

first things first–HAPPY 200TH POST TO ME!! :) i’ve had my blog since july 2010 and i sure have come a very, very long way!

anyway, the main content now: here is my entry for the soulstruck relive through this contest!

the contest is  to come up with a polyvore-esque set that includes a vintage song and a pair of their vintage shoes.

here is my fantastic entry for the ‘relive through this‘ contest hosted by soulstruck.com!

it is inspired by the 80′s hit ‘i get weak’ by belinda carlisle.

i wanted it to be a flirtly look with a hint of darkness.
for the vintage shoes, i chose number 183; woven toe nude pump, because i really liked the matte color with the accented toes. to add more color to the look, since they are nude shoes, i threw in some slouchy gray socks.

impractical hairstyles – minnie mouse hair buns

so my friend maggie and i were talking about what we wanted to do for halloween. she’s going to be hobbes from cavin and hobbes with my friend anthony, and i wasn’t sure whether to be pikachu [again T_T] or minnie mouse! i have a minnie mouse costume from when i was 10 years old that i can still squeeze into so i figured i would try doing that this year.

i figured i could just wear the minnie mouse dress and plush minnie ears i have [or the vintage sequin ones from this post, hehee!] but i wanted to see what would happen if i tried to do two little buns!

i followed this tutorial from ‘this girl never gets older‘ (her blog is awesome!) to do the buns, but i just split my hair down the middle instead of doing one big bun :3

eeeek it started to fall out so i didn’t get many pictures! X:

BTSSB Giant Pink Gingham Headbow - $40 $32 + $6 shipping OBO
had a previous owner who wore it once for a photoshoot, i think.
i have never worn it, i kind of  bought it out of pressure, unsure of if it would match my dress or not (the rose gingham OP in pink).
it matches perfectly, but as you can tell i don’t look too great in headbows because my bangs are strange and i don’t have any wigs to help with the styling XD
so here it goes to a new home!
i would say the only defect is at the BTSSB tag–there’s a string of thread coming out of the bottom right, but it can be trimmed, and doesn’t affect any part of the headbow.

GIANT BIRTHDAY MONTH HAUL; PART ONE!

hey everyone!! i finally received all of the items that i won or bought this month, along with a collection of the things i purchased throughout this month. :D

in the beginning of january i got my free bracelet from the TOMS website ^_^

i’m giving it to my guy friend who is obsessed with TOMS though. i’ll just order another! ;D

i put it on hobbes’ head. :]

i also ‘won’ one of mirukuma‘s contests by being the first commenter, woo hoo!

i won a beautiful necklace, nail arts, and rilakkuma paper, yay~

there are glitters on the lollipop! ;D

unfortunately, the week of my birthday (january 20) was the week of finals, as i said in my old posts.

they went…eh…pretty well. here is my bio notecard.

and other other side…

i didn’t even end up doing that good on the test. booo. i still got a passing grade though so yay.

this was just a random photo i took! i reorganized my desk–there used to be a white box filled with clothing tags here but i likey me some madeline :] i’ve had this since i was born practically. my life <3

OH and i won wristcuffs from sweet indeed! they are ADORABLEEEEE!!! i’ve never owned wristcuffs so these were a great first and free pair ;D they are really well made and soft~

don’t mind the algebra homework…but hey, at least the colors look nice.

i also got a free giant sticker/postcard thing! hehe another thing for my wallllll :] there’s a cute note on the back too  but i didn’t feel like taking a pic of it.

also, i finally found a way to shrink my bangle thanks for boiling hot water! i have posts about it here and here XD now it doesn’t slip and slide when i wear it and it gets more use! :D

i finally went to sephora to get my birthday gift and finally get the primer i wanted!

they didn’t have the SPF foundation from laura mercier in my shade or i would have totes bought that :/

anyway, if you are in need of a primer and you have somewhat T zone oily skin GET THIS. it is so great.

the shampoo/body wash/bubble bath thing smells so good, its like vanilla cake! it’s decent sized for a free gift, too :] dont you love the sparkles…i know you do. ;]

this is a gift i picked up at the nijiya market! it’s so cute, cookie-shaped hello kitty keychains!

i got mimi. i wish i got my melody </3 oh well, i’m gonna buy another one and test my luck!

i also went to anthropologie! ohohoho sales!

i got this gorgeous and soft off white cardigan for $39.99. the original price wasn’t on the tag :/

i also bought these ADORABLE pink clog heels for $70, from $150!

and a pic of how  they are when worn <3 (boo, giant watermark D: )

OH and my $11 vintage madeline lunchbox came in the mail, suckas!

it tells a story right on the box! ;D

anyway, i also went to mitsuwa market. here’s some awkward ninja pics.

my brother loves moomin and i wanted to buy him this but i didn’t!

he even has a moomin plush that my mom bought him that was like imported O:

weird  how moomin is european but asians like it. same with pingu XD

i was sooo tempted to buy this! i didn’t even bother looking at the price tag though.

it wasn’t  that expensive i don’t think, because it doesn’t look official…OR WAS IT?  HMM

a simple haul!

oh hi guys! :] i hope you are well, and you’re all having a good year so far. i’m having a great one! however i’m not excited for school tomorrow. :( i have finals the week of my birthday; january 18-20! my birthday’s on the 20th :/ at least we get to go home early everyday, and there’s no school on the 17th or 21st! i might go to LA afterwards, if i do well on my finals WHICH I’M PRAYING FOR!

anyway, this is some misc. stuff i purchased in the past week. hooray!

a beautiful handmade bridal headdress! it was $45 from a boutique, but the store was having a 20% off new year’s sale so it was $36 :)

and i bought this scarf at the same store ^_^ it’s so cute! and antique esque!

it was $26 but went down to $20. yay!

i added funny names to the ‘wrap style’ of the scarf xD

heehee!

OH and i bought a curling iron finally! it’s pretty hardcore~!

yep, i’ve used it a few times but i’m not impressed. i wanted big curls but it doesn’t really provide those results.

i’m gonna keep using it though and test out some stuff!

anyway, i’ll have an outfit post later tonight.
